In this Workshop, we will convert everyday sounds into interesting textures such as pads, noise and percussion. For this Workshop, we will mainly use stock plugins from Ableton. Together with these textures and the following workshops, we are going to build the layout of a track.
The workshops take place in Dutch.
My name is Cecilia and I’ve been a producer for about 4,5 years. For as long as I can remember I’ve been obsessed with music. I started playing some instruments such as guitar and drums at a young age, which I now like to cooperate in my music. When I was 16 I started a study called Sounddesign, and I learned a lot about the ins and outs of both producing and band recording. Right now I’m studying Music and Technology where I’m learning about the more technical aspects of music. While producing my focus is mainly on the Sounddesign aspect, I like to use synthesis, (re)sampling, and processing to make weird noises. Ableton Live is my daw of choice.
Very often I hear that my music’s hard to pinpoint in the genre spectrum, and when I produce I like to challenge myself creatively. Thinking creatively is something that I would like to encourage in my workshops as well. In these workshops, I would like to give you tools to discover your own sounds and show you different ways to be distinctive. It’s also a lot of fun to make weird alien-like sounds and experiment, so come join me and let’s make some weird stuff together.
